Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Junior Developer is responsible for providing design, analysis, and support of web applications.  Junior Developer will develop and maintain new and existing web pages, forms, applications, and follow development standards. Also requires working in a team environment and handling the development and support of interfaces to various back-end systems. This includes interacting with business process teams and users, writing programs, scripts and preparing the appropriate documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures custom application/website reliability and maintainability through proper design, adequate testing, coordinating, and documentation.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and supports the in-house and web-based applications and works closely with both staff and end users regarding systems performance and acceptability.
  • Detects, resolves, and follows up with existing and potential problems in web systems and software, reports seriousness, and recommends action with timely and complete activity and status reports.
  • Works with business managers to formulate web application enhancements and software plans that will support both current and future business objectives.
  • Develops and maintains new and existing data interfaces throughout the enterprise application ecosystem.
  • Maintain adequate application and software development security controls to ensure corporate data, applications, and documentation are safeguarded against loss, damage, or distortion due to errors or misuse.
  • Follow software development standards and maintain version control.
  • Ensures that complete and up-to-date system documentation is maintained for all areas of responsibility.
  • Must conduct self in an ethical, legal, professional, and responsible manner at all times.
  • Must adhere to the policies, principles, and guidance within the Employee Handbook and Code of Business Conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proficient developing custom multi-user and web-based application solutions
  • Proficient with Visual Studio and MS SQL Server
  • Technically proficient with Windows and the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred
  • 5 years of current application development experience
  • MS SQL, .NET, C#, JavaScript
  • Able to conduct research into technology issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills (spelling, grammar, etc.)
  • Must be able to work proactively. Some after-hours and weekend work will be required.
  • Occasional travel to other Reliant locations and sites.
  • Comfortable working in a demanding fast-paced, customer-focused organization with start-up culture with evolving processes. Flexible and able to adapt to new situations as the business demands.
